What is the Socialist Federation?

Bringing it together

The Socialist Federation — renamed from the Members’ Charter at our conference on 31 May 2026 — is bringing together members, ex-members, branches and ex-branches of Your Party, the organised left and independent socialists. We are working together toward a founding congress this autumn, following several meetings of hundreds of comrades, addressing the urgent need for a mass party following the broken promise of Your Party.

We need, and want to build, a genuinely democratic party which can meet the distinct challenges we face as a movement. That does mean listening; it also means talking; but even more it means action. If you want to take action against inequality, against the bigotry of the far-right (and more mainstream bigotries beside) — and you’re a socialist of any kind, then we want the Socialist Federation to be your home.

What
At our next online conference at the end of June we’ll be bringing together everything we began work on at the end of May: work throughout June on compositing the structure and initial platform proposals will come to a head at the June conference, with the way forward for the founding Congress in September made clear. We’ll go into that Congress with a clear idea of what kind of Federation we all want, as well as a clearer idea of the shape of our initial platform.
